General Info

If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant in London that combines a comfortable atmosphere with a well-rounded menu, Glass Garden at 130 Southwark St, London SE1 0SW, United Kingdom, is a place worth exploring. From the moment I settled into the seating area for dinner, the restaurant felt welcoming and relaxed, making it suitable for both casual meals and special evenings out.

One of the first dishes that caught my attention was the Prawn Vermicelli. The combination of tender prawns and delicate vermicelli created a balanced dish that was satisfying without feeling heavy. It is the kind of menu item that showcases the restaurant’s ability to focus on flavor while keeping the presentation simple and appealing.

Another standout from the menu was the Roast Pork Belly Recommend. The pork belly offered a pleasing contrast of textures, with a rich and flavorful bite that made it easy to understand why it is frequently recommended. For diners who enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine, this dish is a memorable choice and pairs well with other specialties on the menu.

The Fish Stewed in Casserole with Tofu provided a different experience altogether. Served with a comforting combination of fish and tofu, it delivered warmth and depth of flavor that worked especially well during an evening meal. Sharing this dish with friends made the experience feel even more enjoyable, as the generous serving encouraged conversation around the table.

The beverage selection also deserves attention. A well-crafted Cocktail can complement the savory dishes nicely, while the Espresso Martini offers a modern touch for guests looking to end their dinner on a more indulgent note. The availability of coffee further adds convenience, especially for those who prefer a warm drink after their meal.

One practical advantage of Glass Garden is its focus on customer comfort. Features such as available seating and parking contribute to a smoother dining experience. In addition, the restaurant offers late-night food, making it a useful option for those seeking quality Chinese cuisine later in the evening.

Based on my experience, Glass Garden delivers a balanced combination of flavorful dishes, thoughtful service features, and a comfortable atmosphere. Reviews often highlight places that create memorable dining moments, and this location succeeds by offering a menu filled with appealing choices while maintaining an inviting setting in a convenient part of London.

“ Such a great find in London! We came for dinner and drinks and were really impressed, the garlic vermicelli prawns were super bouncy and full of flavour, the coriander beef was incredibly tender and perfect with rice, and the truffle beef fried rice was fragrant without being overpowering. Even the fried milk for dessert was a nostalgic highlight, crispy outside and soft inside. The glass garden space is beautiful, there’s a cocktail bar for a relaxed vibe, and they even have KTV downstairs for groups. Love that they’re open from 8am until late too, definitely coming back! ”

“ Their London hotpot is an absolute masterpiece – tender, slow-cooked meat in a rich, flavourful broth, packed with fresh vegetables and perfectly seasoned. The portion was generous, steaming hot, and felt like a warm hug on a chilly London day. The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. It’s clear this is a dish made with care and tradition. If you’re looking for authentic, hearty comfort food in London, look no further. This hotpot is a must-try! I’ll definitely be back soon. ”
